Head Varsity: Sarah KeenerHead coach, Sarah Keener, has been at Sanger for 11 years as a Physical Education teacher and coach; splitting her time between coaching volleyball and track. Five years ago, she committed to coaching one sport, volleyball, and she has loved every minute of it. There has been a lot of success in the girls volleyball program at Sanger High, and it is Coach Keener's desire to keep in that tradition and continue to build the program and community involvement in volleyball. Coach Keener lead the Apaches to back to back CMAC League Championships in 2015 and 2016 seasons. She was also CMAC Coach of the Year for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
Coach Keener earned her degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University (2006) while also competing in the sport of track and field. She received her Secondary Teaching Credential from Fresno Pacific University (2007) and completed her Master's Degree in Kinesiology at Fresno Pacific in the Summer of 2013. While a 3 sport athlete in high school (volleyball, basketball, and track) and a track athlete in college, volleyball has always been the sport Coach Keener has loved. She has been a part of the Sanger Volleyball coaching staff since 2007 and was excited to take over the program in 2013. Fun Facts: She has completed 4 half marathons in under 2 hours, been skydiving, and has a dog named Pepper! She also likes spending time watching baseball with her husband Jordan Keener. |
Varsity Assistant: Kaycee KingKaycee graduated from Clovis East High school in 2008. She was a 3-sport athlete (volleyball, soccer, and track) and was named Female Athlete of the Year and Jr. League of Fresno Female Athlete my senior year. After high school, Kaycee went to Fresno State and received my BS in Kinesiology-Exercise Science in 2012. She received her teaching credential in 2014 and just finished her first year in Sanger Unified as an Elementary Physical Education teacher.
While Kaycee was in the credential program she started coaching volleyball. She coached Frosh for Clovis East (2014), Central Cal 14 Bronze (2015), Clovis East varsity (2015), and Central Cal 12 Gold (2016). This is Kaycee's 3rd year in Sanger Unified. During her last 3 years, she has coached the Boys Frosh Volleyball teams and this last year also coached SVA 17-1 club team. Volleyball is by far her favorite sport to coach and play and she can't wait to see what this year has in store for Sanger Volleyball! Fun Facts: When Kaycee is not teaching or coaching, she likes to be with friends and family and she loves to travel. She has also has a dog named Apache! Her next big trip will be to Italy and Greece in the summer of 2018! |

JV: Justin Potter |
Justin Potter was born and raised in Madera, California. He graduated from Madera South High School in 2009 and attended Fresno State the following year. While attending Fresno State, Justin played for the Men's Club Volleyball team for the 2009-2010 season. After playing at the next level, Justin went into coaching has coached every year since. This will be Justin's seventh year coaching.
After graduating with his degree in History from Fresno State Justin has been attending National University earning his Teaching Credential and Master's in Education. Justin Was also hired on to teach Modern World History at Sanger High School. Fun Facts: Despite the busy schedule, Justin recently got married and loves to spend time with his wife, Brooke. He also has a rambunctious dog named Carl that he takes care of. |
Frosh: David Yamamoto
Coach David graduated from Sanger High School in 2008 where he played football and volleyball all four years. This is David's first year coaching, he also plans to coach for the Sanger Boys Volleyball Program later this year. As a first year coach, David plans to emphasize defense and hustle while sharing his love and knowledge of the sport. David's passion for sports and competition drove him to pursue his studies in athletic performance. He graduated from Fresno State with a BS in Kinesiology - Exercise Science Option. Now, he is currently working as a physical therapist aid at Hughes/Brogan Physical Therapy and pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy. When David is not studying, working, or coaching he enjoys cycling, running, and working on his golf swing.
